windows 8.1 how to get it

hi. i,m running windows 8 64 bit and want to upgrade to win 8.1.i heard it would come down as a normal update[not through the store]doe's anyone have the update number please, or point me in the right direction

8.1 is a free upgrade though the Windows Store for those already running 8.0. There is a Windows update required for it to show up in the Windows store, but the actual upgrade is done though the Windows store.
