Solved Need to learn about win recovery

Don't know what you mean by "refresh files" but if you mean system refresh, your apps will have to be reinstalled.

Will using refresh files remove some of the apps I have installed?

Do you mean 'Refresh your PC...' in PC Settings, (Modern)?

If so, when clicking on 'Get started', first you'll see this:

No...when you use the recovery rescue on a flash or usb jump drive and choose trouble shoot command line and refresh files.

Used recovery flash drive and now we connect to the net, which was our biggest problem. Thanks everyone.

Now i am going to 8.1 from the apps store.
