Solved Where is My Computer in W8.1

In W7 I had My Computer on my desktop and found it very useful. Now, with W8.1 I can't find it. Where?????

Go to control panel, then personalisation and you can turn it on

I had to put My Computer on the desktop to remind me of what it did but my Windows 8.1 has a little "file" icon on the taskbar that puts exactly the same screen up as the My Computer icon on the desktop.

true but you can right click and get computer management or map a network drive if you want.

As far as I know mine always showed up on Desktop by default so that's kind of strange.

It was originally called "My Computer" then "Computer" then "This PC". Perhaps in Windows 9 they will go for "Anyones PC"

It is disabled by default though on the desktop.

Perhaps "Your PC". This could go on and on. I do wonder why they keep changing it, maybe an inside joke at MS.
