Of course, you just have to be realistic, new high demanding games may not play well on max settings. The Hd 4400 is a good graphics solution for all-in-one CPU/GPUs. The game Amnesia which is pretty graphics intense plays almost as well on my Intel HD 4000 as it does on my Nvidia 730m.

So will the 1.7ghz just boost upto 2.5ghz because I know 1.7ghz isn't the best for gaming.
You may want to check out these forums Laptop Forums and Notebook Computer Discussion All notebooks are covered with great detail on most notebooks that's, what this one does.

I don't feel like this is a good buy for $500 if your intentions are gaming. There are just too many unknown variables at this point. What games are we talking about? What settings are you talking about?

Light gaming, minecraft, football manager 2014 (UK game) photoshop and microsoft word, Netflix and YouTube. That's what I'll be using it mostly for.

The acer laptop has just went down to 350, that's decent for an i5 IMO

So around $450-475? I'd say go for it...you are getting to the a boundary line where it's going to be hard to get an i5 for a cheaper price while at same time you need to get it before it's sold out.

I was trying to make sure you are expecting the performance it can supply.
