My i5 is 2.6GHz with a boost to 3.1GHz but then I paid about $200 US more than what you are looking at. At that price point it will be difficult to find something really fast.

I did a usd conversion to see how much it is in American money and I am about right on here. The processor you are getting is equivalent to about what you will get for that price range. Really and truly the "100$ off is just a lure to get you to buy it.

About the $500 range is the normal starting price for i5 builds.

This is just me speaking in basic logic here however I would choose an i5 over an a10 any day. Both are nice processors however if I wanted to choose AMD over intel it would have to be a fx4xxx-6xxx series to buy at that price.

In reality you are going to get similar results with these cards. I think you should look at this as well

    Intel Core i5 4200U vs AMD A10 5750M

As you can see they are so evenly matched it's hard to state either way. You will get favoritism from every person here. Some like myself prefer AMD while others here are going to prefer the intel.

Go with your gut I don't think you can really have a wrong laptop here. Just know what you are buying, and what to expect that's all I am saying about it.

Of course, you just have to be realistic, new high demanding games may not play well on max settings. The Hd 4400 is a good graphics solution for all-in-one CPU/GPUs. The game Amnesia which is pretty graphics intense plays almost as well on my Intel HD 4000 as it does on my Nvidia 730m.

So will the 1.7ghz just boost upto 2.5ghz because I know 1.7ghz isn't the best for gaming.

I don't have it and honestly can't say across the board how it will perform. I suggest you look at some of the benchmark sites and compare for yourself. Never going to be as good as dedicated GPU. Some new games will not load/play at all without a dedicated GPU. Maybe the AMD APUs are better in that regard. I don't know, the truth.
Only way anybody here can say for sure is if they have that CPU and have direct experience.
There are "can I run it" sites that will tell you if a specific game will work.

EDIT: If your main emphasis is gaming, you probably won't be happy with any single chip solution.

I have an ASUS and an Acer laptop. My Wife uses the Acer, it has a 15 inch screen, is nice and thin and light. It's a V5 something, AMD A-8 APU. My ASUS is a K75DE, 17.3 inch screen, dual drive bays, AMD A-10 APU. It's big and a bit heavy, but its what I wanted.
My Asus G75 has two fans one for the CPU and one for the GPU the exhaust is out the back and intakes are through the keyboard and other port at the keyboard level makes no difference if used with the bottom blocked. I clean my fans and blow out the heat sinks monthly.
