Hello

I am new to Windows 8.1. I am thinking of buying a new desktop
Acer L10axc-603G-Uw12 Cel.2.0 Qc 4Gb/1Tb/Dvdrw/W8.1 Some more info that you might need is:

SPECIFICATIONS:
• Processor: 2GHz Intel Celeron Quad-core.
• Memory: 4GB DDR3.
• Hard Drive: 1TB SATA.
• Optical Drive: DVDRW.
• Memory Card Reader
• Integrated graphics and audio.
• Network card: Integrated 10/100/1000Mbps.
• USB Ports: 5.
• Includes keyboard and mouse.
• Operating System: Windows 8.1

Can someone please tell me if this is going to be a fast enough computer that I can use for pod casting, making small youtube vids and downloading medical movies with animation?

The thing that may make you unhappy in the future is likely to be the integrated graphics. Often these have next to no onboard memory and use system ram for video. Although you can likely get a cheap video card with 1/2 GB onboard ram. If it has a free slot for the video card you may be ok. 4 GB of DDR3 for the system should be fine unless you plan on doing video conversions. I'm not familiar with Celeron quad CPUs. But especially for HD video playback you should have a dedicated GPU.

Personally, I don't like the Celeron processors...they are older technology and companies are trying to push them because thy bought too many of them back in the heyday of the Celerons. Go here to see a comparison:
Intel Celeron E3300 vs Core i5-2500

My 2 cents.
