With display off want power switch to instantly power down

Hello,

I have my Windows 8.1 setup so the display turns off in 1 minute.

I have the power options setup so that the power switch shuts the system down.

But it doesn't. If the screen is off and I press the power switch on my PC the screen comes back on. I then need to press the power switch a second time for the computer to power down.

Is there anyway to configure Windows 8.1 so that the power switch does not turn the display back on, but just immediately shuts the system down?

Thanks!

You don't have to do that.
When the display is turned off and when you press any key on the laptop, it will bring the display back on.

That was the question, yes, you got it.

I will assume it turns the monitor back on so that you can then shut down the laptop ,do you also have sleep function set ,if it may be waking laptop before it can be shut down

It is not a laptop, it is a desktop. No I do not have the sleep function set. I want to be able to switch the desktop down by pressing the power switch once.

Same thing happens to my Lenovo K450 running Windows 8.1.1 X64.

I have all sleep settings disabled, screen saver kicks in after 5 minutes, display shuts off after 15 minutes. I have to press the power button twice also.
