    Black screen after boot

And thank you for anyone taking his/her time to read this:

I'll try to be clear, my laptop is a Samsung NP300E4C, it came with Windows 8 from factory and have never installed any other OS nor messed with the Boot before:

I was trying to boot from the DVD drive. This is when I found that the boot for Windows 8 and 8.1 was changed to prevent malware and forced windows instead of allowing me to press ESC, F8 or F11.

Went to Ms config and ticked default boot options. Then went to Power Settings and disabled fast boot. I still couldn't boot from the DVD drive because no matter if I pressed ESC or any F key, even with shift or Fn (both right and left).

Back in Windows I went to the settings app and there I found the advanced boot options (or whatever it is called) which opens different options for windows after a restart, which it did.

On those settings, there were many drives from where I could boot. Hard Drive, DVD drive, CD drive (which I don't have, this is a laptop), network boot, Usb and Usb CD (which I don't have either).

The usb and usb cd were listed twice actually, which I found odd. In order to boot from the DVD drive I selected that option. Windows restarted and went straight to Windows 8.1 again. Then tried to select CD drive (which I am sure I don't have, but selected it anyways) and it went straight to windows 8.1. The problem came when I selected USB CD. It now shows a windows logo I have never seen before on this laptop (it's the usual logo you can see when booting windows 8 but my laptop never displayed it becase after showing the Samsung logo it went straight to login).

Now everytime I turn on, the Samsung logo shows up for 5 seconds, displays the windows logo, the circling dots appear for around 30 seconds, and then the screen goes black. Neither on the Samsung logo nor the Windows logo with the dots presssing F1 to 12, ESC, and with right or left shift nor left or right Fn keys work at all. It proceeds to go to the black screen.

Again, many, many thanks for your time.

Hi, you may be best off contacting the manufacturer for information concerning booting. Have you tried to alter settings in the bios related to booting from USB?
