Login normally, create a local account and then boot into safe mode and log into the local account.

Well at this point I would suggest a Windows disc to be able to gain access to your system tools.

When you place the disc in and it loads up instead of pushing the install button you should see something like a "repair" option or something of that fashion and you should be able to do this from there.

Thanks Genet..
When I click on Command prompt option, it shows me my username and asks for password again..ans since my password is not working, I do not get a command prompt screen. It is like a deadlock situation..

> OPTION ONE <

Note: You will need the Windows 7/8/8.1 installation media or Windows 8 system repair disc or Windows 8 recovery USB flash drive.

- Boot the computer using the Windows 7/8/8.1 installation media.
- On the first screen, press SHIFT+F10 to bring up command prompt.
OR
- Boot the computer using the Windows 8 system repair disc or Windows 8 recovery USB flash drive.
- select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.

- Run the following command at the command prompt.

bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot

- Reboot your PC.

> OPTION TWO <

(see the previous post how you can choose the reset option)

Reset your PC - This can be done even if you don't know the administrator password, because you are not prompted for an administrator password.

Refresh your PC does not work, if you don't know the administrator password.
