Separating Similar Windows From Each Other In The Taskbar

What I mean by this is a little more complex than it sounds.

So I have the option "Taskbar buttons" as "Never combine". So that is correct, they all show separately in the taskbar. So they may be next to each other, yet they Cannot be separated from being next to each other. I tend to drag Explorer windows (or open folders) in the taskbar to different locations. So whenever I have two folders open, and I drag one of them in the taskbar from the left side to the right side of all the other windows that are open, Both Explorer windows move together, yet I only wanted one of them to move to the right side, while the second one should stay where it was.

How can I separate similar windows from each other in the taskbar?

    Thanks a lot.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is possible natively in Windows.

Taskbar Shuffle will do it though:

    Download Taskbar Shuffle - MajorGeeks

lastof: I used to use Taskbar Shuffle for Windows XP and that was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, this program doesn't really do anything in Windows 8.1. They still stick together.

caper: I was assuming there's some registry hack for it. Your post was practically my question in other words.

AWESOME Edwin. Thank you for your reply. There should be forums that is for Windows 7, 8 & 8.1 altogether for how similar they all are.

I used the program you suggested and under the "Grouping" section, I selected "Don't group" and boom! Right there on the spot, the windows are no longer attached to each other in the taskbar. No restart no nothing. Nice and simple.

Thank you so much for browsing over to my post and replying with the fix.

Oh hey, I gotta bring this thread back up. So the program works, yet when I restart the computer, the windows get attached to each other once again. I have to re-open the program and set that option every time the computer gets turned on. I tried running the program as an Admin and set the option, yet it still resets every time I restart the computer.

Do you know what I can do about this so it can become permanent?

Settings (bottom right), check 'Run at startup', click 'Done'

I saw that option, yet I don't want the program to be running for no apparent reason. I just want it to permanently set that option in the registry.

Tuneup Utilities and Similar in Software and Apps
Hi all, I was wondering what you guys think of programs such as Tuneup Utilities? Worth it? I personally like the idea of a set-it-and-forget-it program that maintains my system, but am not sure if the cost of such programs is worth what they do? TIA
