Changing how custom sleep shortcut works

Hey guys, I have a question hoping someone can help (and hoping that it's possible). I followed Brink's tutorial on creating a sleep shortcut. It works great but I would like to make one minor change. Instead of waking computer by using the power button, is there a way that I can go back to waking with the keyboard (like it is if I sleep from start menu). I changed the power settings and everything to disable hibernate as well. Hope my description was clear enough to understand. Thanks!

    Hello Ghost,

By default, you should still be able to wake the computer with the mouse unless you prevented it from doing so. Double check using OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to see if your mouse has the Allow this device to wake the computer box checked in it's "Power Management" properties tab.

Sometimes you may also have a BIOS/UEFI setting to enable/disable waking the computer with the mouse, so it would be a good idea to check the power management setting in your BIOS/UEFI as well.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Hmm, I disabled using mouse to wake computer a long time ago (I have a cat and the smallest bump on the desk, the mouse would always wake computer). I do however have my keyboard set to wake my computer. It works if I go from start>sleep, however, I am unable to wake using the sleep shortcut that I made. I used this Sleep Shortcut Tutorial and then used Method 2>Option 2. Here's a screen from the command prompt that I ran stating that my keyboard is allowed to wake computer. I hope I explained my situation more clearly.

As of now, the only way to wake my computer is by using the power button on the front of tower. Thanks again!

I think I fixed it! After doing every possible thing to disable hibernation and the shortcut still not working. I resorted to using the powercfg -h off method and now my computer is asleep (with power light orange instead of off like before) and is fully wakeable (is that a word?) from the keyboard. Thanks for all your help, glad my headache is gone now!

Hi, in Windows 8.1, I know how to pin a shortcut to taskbar, by just dragging it to the taskbar, and it's done. But some programs, like Googe Chrome, don't behavior like a shortcut pinned to taskbar, cause when I click them, they actually take control of the pinned icon and expand it. I don't...
I recently installed Win 8 Enterprise 90 days trial using Virtualbox. I tried Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up the task manager, but it apparently works on only the left ctrl and left shift keys.. Is this a bug or intentional ? Update: Omg, fatal typo. I meant Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Sorry.
RDP works very well on port 3389, which is forwarded through my router. If the port isn't forwarded, RDP obviously won't work. The second I apply the forwarded port, RDP will see the connection and ask for my login credentials. After changing the port number (from 3389 to something else) in...
