I find that the current way now segregates the two interfaces of Desktop and Start Screen to be significant. I think the Start Screen can mesh well into the Desktop and Desktop mesh well into the Start Screen. There shouldn't be a need to segregate them. Seeing a lack of a Start button is odd and seeing a square, mini version of the Start Screen there is just kind of awkward honestly.
I really have to wonder if we're using the same Operating System. To me, there's absolutely no continuity between the traditional desktop and the Metro start page. In fact, they're probably the most disjointed, inharmonious pairing I could imagine for a desktop computer.

Yeah that was what I found.

If you own an AMD Video Card Eyefinity capable, you can connect few monitors and they will work as only on so as exemple if you get 2 x 1920 x 1080 monitors it will make you a

Unluckily that Eyefinity just supports AMD HD 5000 series and above. Mine is HD4000 series. Give it up then.

The start button would be completely unnecessary in 8 with so many faster easier ways to access what you want. Getting rid of it only clears up clutter on my taskbar and makes working easier. It's like people who try to revert all the way back to a 98se style start on something as late as 7. To stubborn to accept changes that make life easier foolish indeed.

What could be easier than tapping one button to access all your stuff... And just to top that off it displays it all fullscreen and as large easily identifiable and completely customizable tiles.

I voted no. Thinking about it. The only thing I regularly use the start menu for in W7 is to shut the machine down and with Shawn's power cascading menu on the desktop right click I don't even need that.

I think people are misunderstanding the question.

It is not "if the start button was there , would you use it "

The question is - "should it be returned".

The answer from any reasonable person would be Yes, because tho I may not use it - there are plenty of others who will - therefore give them the option.
