There has been a theatre show touring called "My first Cinderella".

That is quite baffling. I have directed Cinders a couple of times myself - it is a family show.

Maybe we should call win8 "My first o/s"

I like the new Start. For me it is easier to use than the old one. No need for that any more.

Wolfgang - not you of all people.

It is concerning to see people voting No.

Even if you do not use those functions yourself - it is petty and holier than thou to deprive others of the option to use them.

On my Desktop, I have one and a half screens. On my Windows 8 To Go drive, I'm using also one and half screens.

It took Microsoft 16 years to get from Windows 1 to Windows XP, it took them another 8 years to get from Windows XP to Windows 7, it's going to take awhile to get to the next good Windows.
That's really debatable considering xp was a security flawed sucker. I once installed xp SP3 in a VM, and I literally spent two hours installing updates, 99 percent of them security. But even then, to say one version of Windows was better than all of them is questionable since every version of Windows is a version of the times.

If we're talking about Microsoft putting back the start menu, no.

If we're talking about putting the actual Start logo on the bottom left side of the screen, yes. I find that the current way now segregates the two interfaces of Desktop and Start Screen to be significant. I think the Start Screen can mesh well into the Desktop and Desktop mesh well into the Start Screen. There shouldn't be a need to segregate them. Seeing a lack of a Start button is odd and seeing a square, mini version of the Start Screen there is just kind of awkward honestly.

Anyone able to extend Metro tiles on multiple screen?
I was just able to have it on one, and only desktop screen on the other.

Well, I get along fine with the new Start menu and I like All Apps a lot better than the constant fumbling in All Programs. Not to mention the pain with the Start Properties. That thing was a masterpiece of poor design.

So as I said, from my perspective there is no need for the old Start. But this is a free country. Everybody can express their own position. If they put it back (as an additional option), that's fine with me too. I doubt though that they will do that.

Currently, that's how Metro is designed to work. You can move the start page away from your primary monitor, but then the start page and all Metro applications will run on the secondary monitor.
