UEFI?

I'm old. I use my computer for email, internet, photo editing, and writing. I'm no geek but I'm a competent button pusher. Currently, I'm using Windows 8.1.

Is there any reason I should consider switching from BIOS to UEFI other than just the fun of tinkering?

Hi there. Don't know that much about it either, but I should think for starters one would need a MoBo with a UEFI BIOS chip. Not all that sure.

I have a Dell XPS8700 and UEFI is available. It would require me to reinstall Windows 8 and I think, but I'm not sure, I'd have to format my hard drive and my SSD. I'm just curious about whether or not it's worth the hassle.

If your boot drive >2GB seems to be the only real "advantage". My laptop is a MacBook so I have no choice but to use it.
