CTRL + V won't work, how do I fix this?

Hi, so back in January I got this TOSHIBA Satellite laptop and about 2 months ago CTRL + V (Paste) stopped working. the V key works fine, the CTRL key works fine, and I can do all other shortcuts besides this one. This is very frustrating, especially for playing video games, given that you can't right click>paste. For some reason can't get onto the other site that I asked this question on, so I'm turning to here. A month ago, if I did SHIFT + CTRL + V it worked, (I only need to control C or X for any others shift was only for the pasting) and it puzzled me, but I just used it anyways. This stopped working two weeks ago and I couldn't keyboard paste since. just restarted my PC and it let me paste twice, and I thought it was fixed (it had just updated) and it turns out the third this I tried to paste, nothing happened, and I was back to square one. Please help me, this is driving me crazy. Thank you.

Hello Pat,

Try uninstalling your keyboard driver as follows:

1. Windows Key + X > Device Manager
2. Expand the "Keyboards" entry
3. Rt. Click your keyboard and choose 'uninstall'
4. After Windows has removed the keyboard, go to the 'Action' menu (at the top of Device Manager), choose Scan for Hardware Changes

At this point Windows will re-initialize the driver and reinstall the keyboard.

That didn't work :/

Hello Pat,

I tried this, and it didn't solve my problem at all, thanks, though.

Try David's suggestion. It may also be a faulty keyboard driver.

Run this batch file.

It might help.

It just opens up the cmd prompt and spams commands too fast to read. I'm not sure if this isn't supposed to happen, but when I right click run as administrator is not an option

Nevermind, I figured I'd right click it in file explorer, now the program, not it's started a verification phase.

I already located it, but it's in a verification phase, and it ays it's 30% complete, what does this mean? What will happen once it's finished?
