Iam very confused. My computer skills aren't good. My question is this is Windows 8 same as Windows 8.1 as far as lets say downloading something that says works with 8.1 will it also work with windows 8?
Also is Windows RT a complete different operating system. I don't hear much about it at all.
On my Windows 8, Defender is great. I got Classic Shell for the Windows 7 start button and other features. Don't get me wrong, I do think Windows 8 is much better than 7. I just think thay shouldn't have changed so much. Thanks for Classic Shell ( it,s awesome ) Thank,s Chuck

Software should work in either 8.0 or 8.1, shouldn't make a difference.

Yes, RT is completely different. It's build for an ARM processor architecture. Very few things are using RT anymore, I don't think it will be around much longer.

I run classic shell on all computers at work. I prefer Stardock's Start8 on my home computer.
