Hi
my dads photo viewer in windows 8 does not like to print a whole picture over wifi network to his Epson xp312 wifi printer.
it prints fine over usb and his win7 laptop over wifi.
ive tried updated drivers, removed colour management profiles, selected install new printer in photoviewer, and replacing photowiz.dll and done a scannow repair still getting error printing full page.

Ive brought it home with me and can get it to print fine to my wifi canon mg4150.

im in the middle of installing win7 instead of win8 and hope to sort it out, if not I don't know what to do.

I NEED help if anyone has any ideas please share
Thank you

Hi there

I tend to use things like Photoshop so I can't say exactly what's going wrong - perhaps you should look at the PRINTING options -- perhaps you need to get the printer to automatically re-size the photo to the size of paper being used -- remember also that US stuff often defaults to LETTER whereas European is A4 for a full sheet -- the two sizes aren't identical and often can cause hose ups.

Most photo editing software and even cheap printers allow all sorts of scaling / re-sizing etc.

Cheers

hiya, thanx for trying still didn't work, its soooo frustrating that the only answer is to install another program which is going around the problem not fixing it, im hoping win7 will sort it, I believe it could be between win8 and Epson printer compatibility or environmental reasons i.e interference.

Hi there
Just before you give up -- How about this

Display the photo on the screen - then capture it with the Snipping Tool and then Print -- see what happens then.

I can't believe a firm like EPSON will make cruddy printers that can't print a photo on almost any size page properly. !!!!

Cheers

The fact that it prints fine using USB indicates to me that the program isn't the issue. The fact that you can get it to print fine with your printer via wifi indicates that it isn't a problem with Win 8 or his computer. The problem seems to be the printer itself or possibly his router. Have you tried contacting Epson tech support? Have you tried rebooting the router? I would try a different router before installing Win 7 but I guess it's too late for that since you are already doing the install.

hi guys
thanx for replies, other programs work except photo viewer, also yes I have started the install but I still have my brothers one to try.
I did contact Epson directly and they wernt helpful at all just gave me basic problem solving including have you checked that you have ink in (duh!), to be honest I think its to do with compatibility with windows 8 and Epson xp 321 printer, because my mums laptop in on windows 7 and work fine over wifi and usb. printer is under warrenty.
I would think it should work with win7 due to mums one working, will see later on.
I waiting for more bad news if his win7 does not work ha!
will update soon
