No. But after you've been assimilated, you'll realize that you're better off in this Brave New World.

Win 7/Win 8 CP Dual Boot

My Win 7 is getting very Lonely. I am on Win 8 CP 100% of the time. I still have not decided if I will purchase when the RTM is released. That will probably depend on the pricing structure. I was very happy with Win 7 as well.

I do not miss any of the features missing from Win 8 CP. I spend 99% of my time on the Desktop UI.

I like Windows 8. But for what I am doing, I do not yet see enough new innovative function to warrent spending money on it.

Agreed whs. For me, the only new things I see or use on a daily basis are the new Task Manager and the new file copy popup screen.

Other than that, I don't use Metro and don't plan to, unless there comes along some seriously good or fun app, which I doubt. It has to be so good that it makes me re-enable UAC and that's just not going to happen lol.

I can't really think of anything else new since 7 that I use or see, at all. As I've seen said, this should be SP2 for 7.

Then you would have a revolution if all the Win7 users suddenly 'lost' their Start button

I think GMan meant the actual W8 improvements (e.g. reduced RAM usage, improved performance) not the pointless GUI changes.

Well, been a long slog indeed. After deleting crap-ware and installing a third party start app (Start Menu 8) plus Big Muscle's Aero Glass, I'm now very happy with 8. Granted, more like Franken-8 but I like it. Thank the gods above for third party coders. Still, snappier than 7 and I like the...
