“you don’t currently have permision to access this folder"

“you don’t have currently persimmons to access this folder” issue,

Very recently, as I aim to open some folders I got the message “you don’t have currently persimmons to access this folder” (attached).

Is there any setting at the level of windows that stops this message to appear?

    Thank you

    Best

    Jamal

    Hello Jamal,

What happens when you click on Continue?

Normally, you would be prompted by UAC to approve access. You would need to be an administrator to do so though.

I often have the same thing ; I click 'Continue' and I go to the next step, without being asked for any further authorisation.

Perhaps this tutorial could be of assistance:

    Is there a way?

Hm. As far as I know, ever since Window 7 (not sure about vista), this whole new UAC business made it that even if you ARE an administrator. Windows will still prompt you when you escalate to use these privileges. In your situation I'd suspect that your permissions are a little messed up. I think you could check by doing this:

I would suspect that not all boxes are ticked in your case.

I might be completely wrong in this as well! But may as well check

When you click on "Continue", you should not get the “you don’t have currently persimmons to access this folder” message anymore for that specific folder.

Since this is on another drive (F: ) that you evidently do not have permission to access by default as Red posted above, you could use the "Take Ownership" context menu item to take ownership of your F: to gain ownership and "full control" permissions of it.

    Thanks Reddd for the help,

Please, have a look on the “users” settings. Full permission is given

What other issues should I consider?

    Thanks Brink,

I applied the “take ownership” approach you have already described but never worked (attached)

What might be the issue here?

    Jamal,

Check to see if "Users" is set to have "Full Control" checked in permissions as well.
