Remove "Desktop" Category from Apps Screen

When an item is pinned to Start, it is pinned to two locations: 1) Start screen, and 2) Desktop category in the Apps screen. This is redundant, as no one is going to go through two screens to access something that was available in the first.

Is there any way to remove the "Desktop" category from the Apps screen?

There is not a way to remove the Desktop tile from the Apps Screen, (and still have it pinned to the Start Screen).
It can be removed from both but loses it's functionality.

It is not the desktop tile I am attempting to remove, but the Desktop category from the Apps screen. Most categories are a result of directories within \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu or \ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu. If one of these directories is deleted, the related category is removed from the Apps screen. This does not appear to be the case with the Desktop category.

Okay, I get ya! :)
I just went into the folders you mentioned and created custom folder(s) to clean up the Apps Screen

Just make sure if you 'cut' some from the directory, save them to another folder inside the 'parent' directory.
