Hello all I'm new to the forum and I like to say a warm hello and ask for help.

I migrated from from hdd to ssd on my Samsung series 7 laptop today and everything has gone very well with the exception of windows updates which are now non functioning. I have tried both the DISM and sfc/scannow procedures as well as numerous other possible solutions I have come across during the day.

I am now truly at a loss as to how to fix the issue, the error code coming up is 80070490. If you can help I will be in your debt.

Kind regards,
Peter

The error number seems to mean "Element not found."

So it might be appropriate to ask how you migrated the system to the SSD?

If the old drive has been removed so it can not conflict with the new one, and you moved the partitions over correctly, there should be some mention of the errors in either the Event Viewer, or the WindowsUpdate.log in the Windows partition. You can copy the log to the desktop to read it. Look for something that mentions error or fatal error.

You may be getting errors in the Event Viewer about the Windows Store, if it was related to the logon account.
