    If I try to delete or modify any of these entries, they cannot be accessed through regedit but are available to PsExec.exe from System Internals. I haven't tried deleting these entries for obvious reasons since I do not know if they are essential or not.

    Anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to how to deal with this issue?

    Why are you trying to delete those entries? There are tools out there made for this, besides PSExec. If it is just to clean up Comodo. Use the batch file at Clean-Up Tool for Comodo Internet Security (OLD) - Install / Setup / Configuration Help - CIS Even though it may be a little dated. It should still work.

    There is also System Mechanic. Download System Mechanic Free - MajorGeeks Just be very careful on the registry entries. Back up the registry before performing anything like this. Also make sure you are logging in as a Local Account and doing regedit from the desktop, not from Metro. Make sure the local account is an Administrator.

    Thx for the suggestions. Looks like you may be right that many of the entries relate to COMODO, so I will try doing a clean uninstall of that to see if it helps. Just wonder if igfxdv32.CUIDriver. Will report back after I try removing COMODO.

    igfx has to do with Intel video drivers. If the problem still occurs later then try uninstalling your video card from Device Manger then reboot, let Windows rediscover it and reload the driver.

    After much aggravation, I was finally able to clean out COMODO (including the 200,00 leftover entries and files!! ;-));
    Installed Avast instead and that got rid of the reference to COMODO errors in the registry search. Good start!

    I then tried to uninstall the intel graphics driver using Programs Uninstall or the Device Manager (tried both) but when the computer rebooted, the same error in the registry appeared. I suppose this is because when uninstalling using the Device Manager, I chose not to use the option to delete all the drivers, thinking that if I did so, I would get no image at all on my screen on reboot because there would be no drivers to find. hmmmm... If there are no drivers for the graphics application on my hard drive, will the computer automatically look on the internet for the drivers?

    You will get a default video if it can't find the drivers. Windows Update should find it. If not you can download and install it.

    Yes, Recuva is pretty good. I used Geek Uninstaller which is about the same. It removed many of the entries, but there were tons left over which I removed in part using CCleaner. Had to run that a few times and each time new COMODO items would show up. When it no longer showed any COMODO or "cis" entries related to COMODO, I then did a manual search through the registry for COMODO and it showed over 100 entries still left. Deleted them all using PsExec to finally get it all removed.

    So many people have written about the difficulties encountered when trying to remove COMODO that I have just given up on it.

    I appreciate all the input. Thanks guys!

    Just to clarify, David was referring to REVO not RECUVA. Two different programs.
