    Remove Favorites from Navigation Pane

I have followed all the steps in the tutorial on removing Favorites from the navigation pane.

Favorites - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane in Windows 8

The right-click solution does not work because "show favourites" option does not come up when I right click. The second solution using the folder option is not possible because there is no option to check or uncheck I have even tried with th bat. file, but no change took place.

I would be grateful for any feedback on this and maybe a little help

    Hello iskender,

That is unusual for those settings to be missing. If you like, see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before Favorites went AWOL on you may be able to restore it.

I'm referring to the missing settings to add/remove Favorites in the tutorial linked in your post.

Check to see if this may help instead.

    Iskender,

Right click on an empty area inside the navigation pane instead of on one of the folders.

In your screenshot Favorites is highlighted indicating you are right clicking ON Favorites.

Open the window again & put the cursor in the navigation pane & move it up past Favorites to where Favorites is no longer highlighted & then right click.

    Post back results.

I am afraid to say that when I open the explorer, THIS PC (here on seen as "Computer") is automatically highlighted. Whatever appears in the address bar is automatically highlighted. I cannot de-highlight even when I move my mouse to the place where the pointer is in the screenshot and click or right click there.
