Hey all,

Recently I have found my new gaming PC which is using Windows 8 running kinda slow. I have had the PC for around 2 months only now.

1. Programs are crashing, loading slow. Such as opening Documents folder crashes etc sometimes.
2. Installing programs does not work, it crashes and wont let me cancel the install.
3. Google chrome when opening new tabs to get access to a website etc crashes and comes back to life.

What could this problem be?
Thanks.

Could be lots of things malware, corrupted OS, Crashing hard drive. I would suggest backing up your data and using your restore to factory condition Disk Set or USB Drive. Reset to factory condition and start over, be careful of what you download and install on it this time.
The Disk Manufacture web site will have a diagnostic tool you can download and test your hard drive.

It's a gaming PC don't have anything really downloaded on it except from chrome, and steam games etc.
I've tried all Malware softwares etc and there not showing any viruses, trojans and what not.

My PC recently did a Windows Update could that be anything?

McAfee. I restarted my PC and touch wood it's working perfectly again.
Maybe it was a corrupted program running on my PC which I will keep an eye on.

Thanks.

Great, keep us advised. If the problem restarts again, Uninstall McAfee using their removal tool and see if any difference.

McAfee is not a good AV program. I'd dump that.

I also don't trust Chrome, because it sneaks into peoples PC's just like a virus. My software Guru says it's a real piece of crap.
Since the first Beta version, I've used nothing but Firefox, because I.E. was just so UN-Safe.

Google has stated some time ago, that they are now collecting & saving all your browsing data for advertising purposes. Really?
I won't ever use Google.com as my search engine anymore. I've switched to "ixQuick(dot)com" which is a SAFE search engine.

Sounds like you've got a lot going on there, that needs to change.
You don't even tell us what country you're in, so..........

Good Luck!
