    Help Accessing partition in USB stick

    Hello, i'm using Windows 8 Home 64 Bit.

    I used AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard to add a NTFS Partition to my USB drive. I want to store large files over 4GB on this partition, while having the rest of my files on the primary partition which is FAT32. The problem is, when I plug my drive into the computer it only shows the primary partition.

    Is there any way to get Windows to show both partitions when I plug the device in? I want to be able to store files on both partitions.

    After doing some research, I found that one possible way would be to set the USB device as a "Fixed disk". I was unable to figure out how to do this.

    The device is a 32GB Silicon Power Blaze Removable Disk with USB 3.0.

    Thanks!

    Have you tried going into Administrative Tools, Storage Management and assigning a drive letter to the NTFS partition?

    Why the need for the fat 32 partition? You could have done all the partitioning etc in disk management by the way. < EDIT: Depending on what type of thumb drive you have.

    @alpha,

    It is a removable drive.

    Not natively. Linux handles it perfectly of course.

    You can flip the active marker , but you will need to do it each time with a 3rd party tool., like Aomei, which you already have.

    @MilesAhead

    I have tried that, sadly it would not work for the second partition.

    @alphanumeric

    I have a PS3, it can only read FAT32. I watch movies and shows on it, sadly it cannot play the ones over 4GB because of the FAT32 limit. I would, however, like to keep the large movies on the same device. Hence, making a NTFS partition on it.

    @SIW2

    Woah, thanks! I can get the Pro for free? I'll go check it out now. EDIT: Got it successfully installed, and bookmarked to website for daily checks. Thanks again.

    I tried flipping it, after an hour it was still stuck at 1%. I tried canceling it, after 30 minutes it still didn't cancel. I finally shut down the computer, hopefully no damage.

    It is probably checking the filesystem. Takes a while on a usb stick.

    You can use bootice, it will only move the active marker, it isn't doing anything else.

    I will try Bootice tomorrow. The Windows did not find any errors on the device. Still, I am backing up all of my data on it then re-formatting it. I will try re-doing everything tomorrow.

    ALSO: How long does Bootice take to switch partitions? This will only be a good option if it takes under 1 minute, since I will be using this drive a lot I cannot afford to wait 5-10 mins every time I need to switch.
