Windows 8.1 Laptop Start menu

Hi,Just had this new 8.1 and a bit confused on the start menu,On the windows 7 when I clicked on the start bottom left I had a range of programs there that I could select.
i:e my documents,my pictures,my music,my video control panel,devices and printers,default programs.
How do I get that option to show like that on this 8.1Please.:confused:

Although its called a start button,its definetely not what its used to be.To get that "seven" felling back,you would have to use a 3rd party application,start is back is quite an option,not free though,pretty cheap on the other hand!

Right-click the Start icon and choose Properties, should be some settings you can make. I use Classic Shell and there's several things I can change.
