I can "Auto Import" with Windows Live Photo Gallery, but..

Hello All,
I have two identical computers (Gateway NV76R w/Windows 8 64 bit) and need some help duplicating a desired feature.

I managed to install Windows Live Photo Gallery on my computer a while back and configured the "import" feature to run automatically when inserting an SD card; exactly as we were able to do in Windows 7 ("Import Photos and Videos").

However, I now cannot remember how to make the "auto" Import feature run on my Dad's identical computer?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've gone into "Autoplay" and "Default Programs" and have both computers setup the same and I'm using the same Photo Gallery version on each computer (Photo Gallery 2011, build 15.4.3555.308).

Any insight? Did I happen upon a Registry tweak for my computer? It's been a while now so I cannot recall. Note: I initially installed a different version of Photo Gallery on his computer but have since replaced it with the identical version.

Thanks,
Ralph

Thanks for the input guys! However, none of those offer the automated feature as I was looking to replicate.

I came across the article that Nuccii linked to and can create a "Photo & Video" shortcut. That isn't an automatic feature though, as you have to first open the shortcut and then select the drive you want to import the images from. That would probably be sufficient for my Dad but it would be nice to get it to open automatically as he isn't very tech savvy.

Somehow I managed to setup my computer to run the "Import" wizard automatically upon inserting an SD card, just as it used to do in Windows 7. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to replicate this though, so if anyone can come up with something, or have me check a few settings, that would be great...

Thanks,
Ralph
