Win 8.1: How do I get rid of ghost/hidden printer?

    Hi there,
I have an HP network printer, that's not being used anymore, showing up in my print dialogs, but not under Devices and Printers. How can I get rid of it as it annoys me?
    Thanks
    Steve

You can always remove it through editing the registry. Have you tried going into Device Manager. Do a "Show Hidden Devices", so you can try and Uninstall it that way?

If you go to: Control Panel->Devices and Printers, It might show up in the list. Just right click on it and Remove Device.

I tried looking at Device Manager that way but the driver in question didn't show up.

Where exactly do I have to erase it in the registry?

@topguncp: No, it's not in there as I wrote in my initial post.

Only way I found successful in removing the unwanted entry in my print dialogs was to search for the printer name as it appears in the dialogs in the registry and deleting it manually. There was just one relevant occurrence. Solved.
