mouse cursor only moving when I left or right click.

Has anybody ever had this problem... my mouse cursor will only move when i hold either left or right click.
Otherwise it doesnt move.
Don't know if I'm being really thick here but I can't seem to solve this issue.
If anybody can help me fix this it would be appreciated.

I've never seen or heard of that happening before. It sounds like someone pranked you? Make and model of mouse please? Make and model of PC may help too.

Never heard of such issue ever. If the cursor is stuck you can change settings in control panel. However, this seems some technical problem in the mouse. If this problem is not solved I suggest you buy a new one.

Bingo! I know what it is! Is your mouse wireless? If yes, then it is in sleep mode to preserve battery. To use it you must wake it up by clicking either button. I have one too. After some time being idle is goes into sleep again and you have to click again to use it. Not really convenient. but at least the battery last much longer. In one older model I had that never went in sleep mode (it had an on/off switch at the bottom) the battery didn't last long, especially when I forgot the switch to on.
