.ico file path in Windows 8.1

Where should .ico files be stored in Windows 8.1? I've found a suitable ico image file I want to use. I often work in Photoshop and want different visible icons for .tga files and .psd files.

    Thanks,

    Hello Dricketts,

If you like, there's a free program called IconViewer that will add an Icons tab in the Properties page of files that contain an icon library to let you easily save the icon as an .ico, .bmp, or .png file.

    Download IconViewer

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking for. I already have the .ico file I want to use. Where should it be stored in Windows 8.1?

That's what I've done too but I was wondering if there is directory that the Windows 8 OS saves all .ico files...

Generally program icons are inside the relevant .exe (which is a zipped folder). Your ones you can store anywhere. A folder in the Pictures directory might be an obvious place.

Hi folks I’m not a fan of “Paint” within Windows 8.1, so hadn’t really used it until yesterday. I noted that when I loaded a file and clicked the “save as” option, each of the file format options (png, jpg, bmp etc) produces a filename box with a drop-down arrow that then displays a short list...

Hi, all. I was thrilled to see MS finally added the "copy path" function to the ribbon. To my dismay, it has suddenly stopped working. I can't think of any significant changes I've made to my system (no clipboard extenders recently added, etc.). If I use the SHIFT+right-click copy as path shell...
