I am wondering if there is a way to have the pictures that are downloaded to the computer to actually show the picture and not a generic landscape picture. Thank you.

Enabling thumbnail previews should sort that for you. If not, then check to make sure that Windows Photo Viewer is set as your default program with all associations set for it.

That info worked for my Win 8.1 but my wife has Win 8 and I checked her settings and they are the same as mine but hers is doing the same as mine was. What can we do to fix hers so her pictures are showing? Thanks

Double check the settings from all options in the tutorial to see if another may work instead.
In addition, double check to make sure that she has Windows Photo Viewer set as the default program with all of it's associations set to it.
