Windows 8.1 Symbols and Flashing Screen Won't Stop

I turned on my laptop and after I logged on all my letters were replaced with symbols. I then restarted my laptop and now even my log in screen is symbols and when I get to the desktop my screen just keeps flashing and I can't click on anything. It just keeps flashing and loading nothing. I can't do anything on it. I didn't install anything the last time it was on either and I'm the only person who uses the laptop.

It looks like the physical font files on disk have been replaced. You need to re-install the Windows 8 ones.

If possible go to Fonts in Appearance and Personalization of the Control Panel, select font settings and click Restore default font settings.

It's impossible. After I log on my desktop freezes and then after awhile the screen starts flashing.

I must also say that my screen is brand new. My old one broke and I ordered a new one and installed it. It's the same model and everything and worked until the next day. Also noticed that whole screen flickers, but when I use ctrl alt del it doesn't not and when I open task manager the screen flickers except for the task manager and I am able to use task manger, but the symbols still replace the letters.

It sounds like a hardware fault.

It could be the screen cable connections have moved since they were installed, aren't sitting correctly and are 'shorting out' causing issues for the laptop.

Flashing Blue Screen in Installation & Setup
I upgraded last night from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Pro. The problem is when Windows 8 starts now, I see the Windows logo, it says "Please Wait" and then I see a flashing blue screen that doesn't stop. I can't even get into my note book now. How do I fix it?
