Can't open PC settings in Windows 8.1

Hey,

My PC is crashing daily, my guess is about every hour it's turned on at least.

So I've tried to install glary utilities, restarting my PC in safe mode, yet... I can't open up PC settings. The reason is that I need to reboot my PC completely, everyting else haven't solved the problem at all, but it's hard to reboot when you can't open PC settings.

So I really hope that someone can help me with a step-by-step guide to open PC settings and access my reboot menu.

From the desktop, press Alt F4 until the system asks you to restart or shutdown. That is how to restart a computer using keystrokes. I know it doesn't answer the original questions of accessing your pc settings but, it will help you with a restart of your system.

Thanks for the help this far, now I have a new problem, this message comes up when I try to boot.. The PC never came with a CD, it's been updated to 8.1 pro through download.

So now my question is, how do I get it to reboot?

It sounds like it's not recognizing your recovery partition as valid media since it's for Windows 8, and you currently have Windows 8.1 installed. It's wanting 8.1 media.

If you like, you could try to create a recovery drive with the Copy contents from the recovery partition to the recovery drive option checked. If successful, you could boot from this recovery drive to do a factory reset of Windows with.

Be sure to back up anything that you do not want to lose before attempting to reset Windows.
