    Error message when accessing files

I posted about this in another thread with the other issue I had. I am posting this issue here instead. I apologize if this is in the wrong area.

I keep having the error message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." It doesn't happen on all files. I scanned for viruses, and nothing came up. What would be causing this?

    Thank you.

I downloaded different software using Firefox. When I click on the .exe file, the error message happens. I even tried to right click the file and run as administrator. The error still happens.

I'll look at the link. I think it may be my antivirus software. I disabled it and didn't get the message. I re-enabled it and the message came back. I'm not sure how to fix it.

Here are three programs I tried to install.
ShellExView - Shell Extension Manager For Windows
    Free PC cleaner - Download
Synei - PC Cleaner Free will clean up computer to make it run brand new

I have CCleaner. I just wanted to see what those others had.

I uninstalled Avast and installed AVG Free 2014. I downloaded AVG from MajorGeeks. The other download site didn't work.
So far, I don't have that error message. Maybe AVG will work better.

I try to be careful downloading programs. I found ShellExView, Privazer, and, Synei - PC Cleaner Free on Probably the Best Free Security List in the World - Page 17. I still use and like CCleaner.

I used MajorGeeks to download AVG. Is that site okay?
