Customize menu does not appear on Start Screen

When I right-click on something on the Start Screen, the customize menu doesn't appear. One day it just stopped appearing, and I don't know why. It's the same if I want to pin something to it from the page with All Apps. I've uploaded a screenshot where I right-clicked on the "Food & Drink" app.

I've done some searching, but all I could find were people who wanted to pin desktop shortcuts, which I don't care about.

Hello Joostin, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Here's a few ways to open the context menu or apps bar on the Start screen in Windows 8.1 Update.

Start Screen Context Menu and Options Bar - Open

    Hope this helps for now,

Option 2 works, thanks. I still wish I could fix it so option 1 worked.

Usually this happens when using an incompatible or incomplete 3rd party theme.

Changing your theme to a default Windows theme normally sorts this.

It didn't make the customize menu appear, but I've got a context menu now that allows me to modify tiles. Thanks so much guys.

As you guys know Windows 8's "Start Menu" button is changed to go to "Start Screen", and right clicking the button goes to the WinX menu. Just a simple question, is it possible to make left click goes to WinX menu, and right click goes to Start Screen? Just a reverse version of what is existing.
