Folders icon disappeared from Start page

Somehow, the Folders icon disappeared from my Start screen, without which Windows 8.1 is almost unusable. Now I can't locate any folders and can't see anywhere else to access them. Terrible design!

Do you mean the icon for 'this computer' ?

Right click on the desktop

choose 'Personalise'

Select 'Change Desktop Icons'

Make sure the 'Computer' option tickbox is selected.

Press Apply/OK

Or is it "User Files" same "medicine" for that too and it has nothing to do with "terrible design" but somebody changed settings.
