Windows 8 Safe Mode not Working on reboot.

My system failed to start automatic repairs, so I decided to enter safe mode by pressing f8 in the blue screen and f4. However, it does nothing to my computer, it just reboots and no safe mode.

If you need more information I will be glad to provide.
    Thanks

Hello, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You might see if you may be able to use one of the other options in the tutorial below to boot to Safe Mode.

Safe Mode - Start Windows 8 in

In addition: Automatic Repair - Run in Windows 8

    Hope this helps for now,
    Shawn

Thanks for answering Shawn, but the problem is that my startup settings are not working! When I press f4 to restart the computer in safe mode, it just normally reboots.

Shift + F8 does not work on my motherboard for unknown reasons.

How about Option Four or Option Five in the tutorial to boot into Safe Mode?

Option four requires me to boot the computer first and option five requires a DVD or USB thumb drive which I don`t have or the System recovery options (Shift + F8)

Are you also unable to boot to a command prompt at boot to use Option Five?

If your Windows boots normally, then you should be able to do OPTION FOUR.

maybe enter the bios setup on boot [usually f2],and look for quick boot option and disable it ,it may then work with f8 on boot up

I have question Does Windows 8 have a Safe Mode and were do I find it. the reason I ask this is because I have tried going into Safe Mode in Windows 8 by hitting the F8 key so I could run my virus scanner to see if there are any virus that it may not be finding under normal mode.
