    UTC in File Names

Is there a way to stop the UTC being added to file names? This practice is causing havoc with my RootsMagic family tree media references. With thanks for any solution,
    Allan.

An example is the .jpg of the 1861 census for Elizabeth Casley. It is saved as Casley_Elizabeth_1811_1861 census (2014_01_06 13_49_40 UTC).jpg. I don't want the UTC [abbreviation for Coordinated Uninversal Time] portion appearing in file names. Prior to using Windows 8, the file names did not include the UTC portion so the media file names in my RootsMagic tree are not recognised by RootsMagic. RootsMagic tries to find the files as named previously, ie without the inclusion of the UTC date & time. I am having to delete the UTC info from the hundreds of file names I have referenced in RootsMagic. The problem is compounded because if I change one of the files, the UTC info is added again by Windows 8, ie any file change results in another file being added with a new UTC. I was hoping that there is a Preference within Windows 8 to stop the UTC info being added to the filename.

Again an example would be a screen shot of the folder that this is going on in. It is a program that you are using. Which you have stated in your reply, that is causing it to happen.

The file naming policy is from the program(s) that you are using to save the images , there is an option somewhere in there that tells it to add the date/time to saved images.

I've now found that the problem is not caused by a program that I am using but by File History. See:-
