(Start) Search filter option for any character found

Searching in Windows 8.1 in general I want to have a more efficient search (it's not like I have a bunch of files just the OS itself so caching ain't NO THANG!).

What I mean by this is, for example:

-I have a program called MusicBee
*start > search "bee" should bring up the results

in other words search like so (music*) or (*bee)

I do not think that search supports wild characters like *= all chars and ?= one character.

    Hi there

I take it you mean like this:

Not sure that File explorer can do it --my example is with Dolphin a Linux file manager -- you could try Midnight commander on windows - I think that also has what you want.

Reason why I want it to be the start menu is so all I have to do is press the 'Windows' key and type away and simply press 'Enter'.

I shouldn't need an external program do do what I ask for which in return would then need me to manually open up the program and manually searching for the program i'm looking for.

Perhaps I should clarify my "INTENTIONS"
Windows 8.1 start search AKA "Modern UI Search" is not as comprehensive as the file explorer. So what this means is your only searching for a limited scope of installed programs & files in public folder. So, not anything else in other drives.

This is good enough as MusicBee (the program I have installed) is then included in the Modern UI Search but I want to apply search terms at the end of file before the ext. dot (.)

In DoubleCommander (my preferred file manager) has this option like so:

Ultimately in the end all I should then type is (music*) "bee" and results should show:
