    Toshiba L745D Display Size...

I have noticed my Laptop is heating up and being turning off everytime I play a computer game , in this case Counter-Strike Global Offensive. I know it's over heating , that's why I am going to purchase a cooling fan pad . I just want to make sure before I purchase it , that my screen display 14.0 inches. The one I am purchasing is up to 17 inches. Just want to make sure with you guys.

It is because the Heat Sink over the CPU is clogged with dirt and gunk. A cooling fan is not going to solve your problem. If you are comfortable in taking the back off of your laptop, it is not that hard to do. Just do not loose any screws.

You take off the large plate over the hard drive & RAM, take out the battery. Then you just remove the screws on the case, the one that holds the DVD drive in place, and there is also one other inside where the hard drive & RAM. Once those screws are out, then you just have to take off the back cover (make sure you lift from the front, not the back on the battery side. There are four fingers that hold that part in place).

Then you can just blow out all of the gunk and debris in the heat sinks. If you do not want to do this. Find a local mom & pop computer shop to do it. It is a total 15 min's of work to do this.

Is that why my computer is turning off?, I am getting the cool pad for that reason, so I can play without the pc turning off.

Again, the cooling pad is not going to help you out. Only way is to clean the gunk out of the heat sink. I just had a Dell Inspiron that would shut down after two minutes, due to over heating. We blew all the gunk out of the heat sink. No more problems after that. The unit stays around 112 degrees all of the time. With no external cooling methods.
