error 0x80240031

am trying to update from win 8 to 8.1 but after downloading 25% a error message comes on 0x80240031 i ran SFC in command prompt and it said windows resources protection found corrupt files . i then tried to run dism/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth but it couidn't run because it cant be found (i double checked the spelling ) tried running automatic repair and it couldn't fix the problem . what else can i do . i updated to win 8 pro from windows 7

i ran the dism /online /cleanup -image/restorehealth and it fixed everything i ran the sfc/scannow and it found no problems i tried downloading win 8.1 pro again same error what else can i try beside formatting the darn thing

Were all Windows Updates installed before attempting to install the 8.1 update? Also, if you have a 3rd party AV program installed, temporarily disable it.
