Search not finding anything after hypen in 8.1

I finally updated to 8.1 two days ago and since then I have noticed that there is a difference in the search capabilities.

Basically I'm a contract worker and over the past year I have created hundreds of images, each I named with keywords in the name such as "society-people-crowd" and "pay-stub" to help me pull up the images quickly.

However, after the upgrade, windows 8.1 is no longer finding anything after the hyphen. For example, if I search for "crowd" in the first image named society-people-crowd, it will no longer find it, whereas with 8.0 it would find it no problem.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but I memorized certain keywords and now have lost a way to quickly bring up images (some I can no longer find) based on my naming convention. Does anyone know of any setting that would fix this? Or would I have to system restore to before installing 8.1? Any help is appreciated!

I wouldn't go back to 80. The search in 81 works fine.
With what is coming, there is no going back.

Are you using metro charms search or file explorer on the desktop?
If using file explorer, have you tried wildcards? filename .* or filename*

Others will add to this, good luck.

    Hi mdmd,

I am using file explorer on the desktop. And using wildcards solves my searching problem! Thank you! What a relief.
