Solved Clean boot in Win 8

On the Microsoft KB page How to perform a clean boot in Windows, they say that in Win 7 you should disable startup items from the General tab.

But in Win 8, even though Selective Startup and Load Startup items are shown the same way on the General tab, they say to instead disable the startup items from Task Manager>Startup tab. (On my Win 8 computer, Task Manager>Startup tab is only showing 5 items, seems like there might be more that are not showing).

Any idea why MS is suggesting doing it that way, when the old way would still seem to work?
