I purchased the OEM when it first came out and I am now just getting around to installing the OS on a machine that has Vista.
The product key is not on the package.
Is it possible to find the key on the CD?
I inserted the CD and by right clicking found the file folders that were on it.
Would the product key be in one of these folders?
Thanks.

The DVD's are mass produced and all identical. You won't find the product code on the DVD itself. It should be on a peal off sticker inside the box. Or documented somewhere inside the box. It won't be printed on the box itself.

Mine came with a cardboard wrapper around the DVD. This had the key on it very small writing. This was inside another sleave that was the outside packaging.
