A laptop with me having intel i5-3210M...says it clocks at 2.5 ghz but can turbo boost to 3.1ghz...

Now I want to know how to Turbo Boost. Don't think its Overclocking as this something not mentioned officially but Turbo Boost is mentioned officially.

you could also go to search type in turbo boost and see what comes up ,did you check all app on the start screen and see if it shows a app called turbo boost
check the manual, if you don't have one ,check the laptop makes website, look in Support section using the model # from the backside of the laptop ,if you need to ,you could post model # here and we could help you find the manual'

any way you get from 2.5 to 3.1 would be considered overclocking

It should be a BIOS feature, you have to set it from there but I would not advise it, that being a laptop. Much more heating and battery life suffers a lot.

I wanted to Turbo Boost on special occasions only like while playing Game or Converting Videos etc and 75% of the time I am surfing Internet and hence Turbo boost here not required...

If possible to turbo boost from within Windows 8.1 then please post method here.

I have an i7 2630QM in my laptop. Sandy Bridge, like it very much, and so on.. :p I was kinda surprised when I saw that according to Windows 8 Task Manager it never exceeds 2,0 GHz. :sarc: It's supposed to go to 2,8 with all four cores and in Windows 7 it does that very often. Also, no...

Hi. I have question about the cpu max/min power state in the power management menu and how this affects turbo boost. What is the lowest min setting I can have before turbo boost is disabled? I know that max has to be at 100% but I heard that the min setting can be set to as low as 90% before it...
