corrupted files same three files in all folders, can't del

I just has a big issue with my computer at home and I had to backed everything up into a usb to make a clean install
now the usb shows the same three files in pretty much all folders and I can't erase them and I can't see the rest of the files that are supposed to be in those folders....

I've been trying to change attibutes but id doesn't let me...
now another weird thing is that one folder... apparently the first one in the tree with the issue, shows two "." and ".." folders...

I try to run chkdsk but I'm not sure under what option... and in every single folder it that those three files appear it says something like the first allocation unit is not valid and that the entry will be truncated.

Please help... I would really like to recover all my newborn pictures

Always do backups, and always do some type of check later to see if the backuped data actually backed-up.

Sounds like the USB is kinda fried. They recommend that when you pull it from the computer, you're supposed to go down to the "safe uninstall" icon on the task bar on the right side first. Sometimes I don't bother. I would just put the computer to sleep for 5 secs, and remove the USB while it's asleep.

Did you already perform the clean install? If not, then the people at the major electronics chain- Tech service department can try to fish out the data for you. I would say the same thing for the USB, but IMO, there is less hope for that option.

i kinda learned the hard way

and yes, i already performed a clen install in the computer
i've tried to run recuva and it gets some stuff but not the folder of my filer in my user.

as for the USB, same case... this condition seems to be from one folfer foward
