Deleting User Created Lock Screen Images 8.1

    Hi

I've just bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1 and have been playing around with the settings etc. and have a question regarding the Lock screen.

I have personalised the lock screen with my own picture but have decided that I don't like it and would just prefer to use one of the default pictures, but there doesn't seem to be anyway of deleting the picture I have added.

I've tried searching for the picture on the laptop but have had no success finding it.

Can someone please advise me as to how delete this picture?

    Many thanks

    Martin

Hello Martin, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The yellow tip box at the top of the tutorial below can help show you where Windows stores your custom lock screen backgrounds at. You should be able to delete them at that location to not see it anymore.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for the welcome and the reply, that looks quite complicated (I'm used to Windows 7) so I'll give that a go a bit later when I'm feeling a little less intimidated

You're welcome. Yeah, it would have been nice for a simple "Clear history" button to use on the same screen you change the lock screen.

Absolutely, I quite like the look of Windows 8 but some of it does feel like it's not quite been properly thought out.

Hello all, I've recently run across a little-addressed problem in Windows 8.1, and that is the removal of old Lock Screen photos. Most everyone knows that in Windows 8, it was as simple as a right click to clear out the Lock Screen image cache, but that feature has since been removed in 8.1. My...

I find it ridiculous that they split up 'Lock Screen' and Switch User screen like Windows 7. In all previous windows, by pressing Windows+L; brings you a switch user screen which acts like a Lock Screen too. Is there a way to make it like this? So that Lock Screens allow you to choose which user...
