I am not certain how this start up menu appeared on my W8.1.1 system:

There's no program to uninstall, nor does it show up in the list of start up tasks, that makes it hard to remove it. Anyone has some idea what it is and how to remove it?

Maybe the new start menu of windows because you have windows 8.1.1. Is this the windows for a computer or the windows for a windows Phone you have?

The screenshot is from Windows 8.1.1; maybe it was part of WMP installation?

It's not part of the Update to 8.1. Looks like a third party utility to me. What version of 8.1 do you have that doesn't have WMP? You must be running N or KN?

You could try going to Programs and Features, then clicking the heading on the Installed On column to put them in date order, and see what was recently installed.

Yes, this is a Windows 8.1.1 Pro N version and I've just added WMP to it.

The actual program is "Smart Menu" and just uninstalled it. Not sure why it didn't show up in the "Add/Remove" program list yesterday, but did today and its gone...

Thank you all for your help...

Cheers
