Hey I have been trying to take screenshots on my laptop, but whenever I press Win+PrntScr, I get the dimming effect, but I don't get the actual screenshot anywhere in my Pictures.

Any help would be appreciated!

Check for a folder labeled 'Screenshots' in Libraries\Pictures or C:\Users\your moniker\Pictures.

Hello PigsFTW and welcome to the forum. Does your laptop have a function key driver that needs to be updated? Check the Dell site. Sometimes the built in Windows drivers don't work right. Also be sure your BIOS is up to date.

I think you have the right answer Edwin. He did say screen dims so something is happening. Probably going to a folder he isn't looking at.

No, I do not have a folder labeled 'Screenshots' in Libraries\Pictures or C:\Users\your moniker\Pictures.

No, all my drivers are updated(I just checked). And I'm not sure how to check to see if the BIOS is updated.

It's possible, but I can't find it anywhere in my c:\Users\Username\Pictures folder.

Hello PigsFTW, and welcome to Eight Forums.

For laptops and notebooks, you may need to press either the Windows+Ctrl+PrtScn or Windows+Fn+PrtScn keys instead.

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/4511-screenshot-capture-screenshots-directly-windows-8-a.html

In addition, check to see if your Screenshots folder may have been moved if the above keyboard shortcuts don't help. You can also type shell:Screenshots in the Run dialog :)winkey:+R) and click on OK to open directly to Screenshots.

Hope this helps for now, :)

Well, I am pretty sure that my computer is taking the screenshot because I am getting the dimming effect.

I tried "shell:Screenshots" in the Run dialog and got the message "Windows cannot find 'shell:Screenshots'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

As a long shot, try going to Start and type 'Screenshots' to see if it comes up with anything.
If it does you could hover on a screenshot to find out where that folder resides:

I actually tried that before posting here. ;)
However this
Do you have a "C:\Users\(user-name)\Pictures" folder?

See if using OPTION TWO below may be able to restore the Screenshots folder. :)

Fixed the problem! Thanks everyone for the timely responses, and I'll be sure to come here if/when I have anymore issues!
