Upgrading to 8.1 when user folders on a separate partition

I read a Fred Langa article saying that some Windows version updates will choke if the user folders are located on a separate partition. Has anyone had any problems upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 when their user folders on located on a partition other than the c: drive?

    Thanks

I don't think that is a problem. A seperate data partition is OK in 8.1.

I do it, and it hasn't been an issue for me. I just move my user folders like Documents and Pictures, not the whole user profile.

Yes that's what I've done on a few computers. Good to know it is not creating issues.

I do it on all my PC's. Then if I have to reinstall Windows I can leave that Data partition alone and not lose any Data.

Hi all, Just a quick question...Is it possible to install the windows8 developer on to a separate partition on my hard drive? Does it give you the option when you go to install? I am sure I read somewhere that it doesn't but wanted to make sure before I try anything. Thanks
